Delilah

Delilah is a Canadian situation comedy television series that aired on CBC Television from 1973 to 1974. Delilah is a Canadian sitcom that follows the story of Delilah, a woman who moves from the city to the small town of Egerton, Ontario. She takes over a heavily mortgaged barbershop that she inherited from her late father. While managing the barbershop, Delilah supports her teenage brother, Vince, as he completes his studies. As the town's first female barber, she faces the humorous challenges of breaking gender norms in a profession traditionally dominated by men during the 1970s.

Vince's sudden interest in Amanda, a classmate, causes a family uproar when he reveals “plans” for what looks like a night of seduction... thwarted by the ever-present Aunt Peggy.

Aunt Peggy thinks she has the Egerton Committee for Culture eating out of her hand when she convinces a successful “novelist” to read at the group's weekly meeting— and then a few of his “bestsellers” turn up!

4. Stranger In Town

When a handsome Hindi, Jalal, comes to live in Egerton, Della and Aunt Peggy find themselves competing against each other for his attentions. But the pathway to the altar is not without its problems, mostly caused by the over-imaginative — and hopeful — Pegg.

5. Women's Lib

Air Date: 1973-11-08

Della’s household is thrown into turmoil when Women's Lib comes to Edgerton . . . in the person of Pamela, who's to address a meeting of the local WAR (Women at the Ready).

6. The Robber

Air Date: 1973-11-15

Two robbers turn up in Egerton. The local bank is the target, but one robber, an old friend of Della's, isn't really up to it.

7. Black Eyes

Air Date: 1973-11-22

TJ decides to run against Vern Padgett for the post of Town Reeve.

8. Divorce

Air Date: 1973-11-29

Aunt Peggy starts talking about divorce, forcing her husband to vie with the local undertaker for her attentions.

9. Who's Albert?

Air Date: 1973-12-06

Aunt Peggy learns that old Uncle Albert, about to arrive for his first visit in decades, has died suddenly on the train. The family goes into mourning, and when it is discovered that Albert belonged to the Slumber Rest Gold Plan, Egerton's most elaborate funeral is held. Everyone mourns.. until the real Uncle Albert suddenly turns up!

10. Brave New You

Air Date: 1973-12-13

Slim's the name of the game when Aunt Peggy, depressed at seeing her once-fat childhood friend, Mavis, now svelte and lovely, decides to "find" herself through dieting.

11. Dear Delilah

Air Date: 1973-12-20

Unisex comes to Egerton when TJ's new tenant, Gloria, opens the Guys n’ Dolls shop and soon has the town's entire male population panting after her.

12. Happy Anniversary!

Air Date: 1973-12-27

When Della, Peggy, and Franny plan a party to celebrate TJ's 25th wedding anniversary, two unlikely affairs conspire to turn the event into a near disaster ... the unexpected homecoming of Madge's old boyfriend, Moose, and TJ's own stubbornness.

13. Save Our Village

TJ, the town millionaire and newspaper owner, is going to tear down an old building and put up a new one, but part of the family is anti-development, and they forged a document to say Sir John A. Macdonald once slept in the building.
