Gallowglass is a British television miniseries adaptation of the Ruth Rendell novel of the same name. The word “gallowglass” means servant, or one indebted to another. This is the story of a young man who feels such indebtedness to another young man after he is saved from committing suicide by jumping in front of an oncoming train. It is an emotional story of obsessive love, lust and fear.

Mental patient Joe is saved from jumping under a train by Sandor. He is a "Gallowglass", a man forever indebted to the man who saved him. Joe joins Sandor as heads to Suffolk in search of beautiful ex-model held by an obsessive husband.

Sandor's attempt to buy off bodyguard Paul Garnet and get access to Nina fails. Garnet falls for Nina and their relationship becomes intimate. Sandor decides to kidnap his daughter using Joe's sister Tilly in the role of a nurse.

Air Date: 1993-01-24

Garnet confesses to Nina about his daughter's kidnapping and she goes to Sandor. The Mafia were behind kidnapping her in Rome but Sandor gave the money back. They now know where to find Nina and take revenge by murdering her.
