Biography
Michael Giacchino (born October 10, 1967) is an American film, television, and video game score composer. He has received many accolades for his work, including an Academy Award for Up (2009), an Emmy Award for Lost (2004), and three Grammy Awards. Giacchino's first major scores were for video games, including the Medal of Honor and Call of Duty series. He also composed for the television series Alias, Lost, and Fringe. Giacchino's film scores include major franchises (such as entries in Mission: Impossible, Jurassic World, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Star Trek reboot, and the Planet of the Apes reboot), eight Pixar features, and multiple Disney films. He has frequently worked with directors J.J. Abrams, Brad Bird, Matt Reeves, The Wachowskis, Taika Waititi, and Thomas Bezucha. Giacchino has also ventured into directing with several short films and the Marvel Studios Halloween special Werewolf by Night.
